We have MOVED!

Back in August of this year we moved from Washington State (Spokane) to Texas (San Antonio).  It has been a big adjustment.  I have had some health issues and have not been able to sit down and blog all the adventures we went through on the drive here.  And about all the stuff we have gotten to do thus far on this new adventure.  I am hoping to find the time soon to share pictures and stories for those who might be interested.  :)
Up dates coming soon.

Moving Tips

My dear blogging friend Andrea, who I met through my dear Scrapbooking friend MaryRuth moved this weekend. She kept asking me for tips on how to move since our family just did it recently and her family was about to do it. I kept putting it off, Procrastination became my BEST FRIEND.

The whole moving experience was NO FUN and continues to haunt me. I have become paralized with fear that I can't sit down and really write about the tips...because I did everything wrong. The only good thing was having my Visiting Teachers watch the kids for me while we packed up everything the day before the big move, and then my friend Alyson watched the kids the day of the move. That was the only thing I did right.

So I am still not going to write up a list of tips, but instead give you the link to Andrea's cute list of tips she came up with. She moved this weekend and still had time to post a tips list. AMAZING!!!

YOU ROCK Andrea!!!

Shout OuT!!!!

i have to make a shout out to my husband!!!
The Internet guy came by today and got us hooked up to the internet, but was not able to do a wireless network because our router was from a different company. My hubby went out and bought a new router and got us all wireless before he had to head to work today!!!

I it feeling more and more like home.

Exhausted-whole body hurts.

Sent the kids over to friend's homes on Tuesday and got everything that I could possible pack packed. Everything moved upstairs except the big TV and couch.

Wednesday my other friend Alyson took the kids and we moved the stuff over. The guys we had rented to help us move were an hour and a half late. Kind of put a kink into things. The kids were over at Alyson's place a lot longer than I had wanted.

When I brought them to the new house, things were crazy. Crying, and yelling and temper tantrums and I can't find anything. I thought that I labeled things well but the movers just stacked boxes all over the garage and I can't move most of the boxes because they are to heavy for me. Bryan got home and helped me with the kids. But they are driving us both Crazy!

This is our first move with kids and two of them on top of it. It has been no fun.

Ladybug slept well through the night and so did Bug once we got him to sleep. It was late. We didn't sleep well because of no curtains on the windows. Just blinds. We are use to DARK rooms....and with the porch lite that is as bright as the sun at high noon next door our bedroom felt like the middle of the day. Plus, I keep hearing sounds. I have to get use to the noises that this house makes.

Oh, and our fridge is not working....LOL I turned it on, but it is kicking out heat. It is warmer inside of it than out side. The rental company had one of their workers come by today but he couldn't fix it, so all of our cold food is over at the old house. Ugggg. It will get worked out, just don't know when. Hoping soon.

We got Internet but need to buy a router so that we can have wireless. It is working for now.

Moving is no fun, but I am sure this place will feel like home in no time. I HOPE!
Oh and I did get some REALLY Cute pictures of Ladybug this morning. I hope to post them in the next day.

Why are you selling your house?

Several people have asked why we are selling our house.

Well, basically Bryan is looking for a new job and it more than likely will be a job out of the state of Washington. Relocating. No job yet, but he is looking.
He has been looking for new work ever since he graduated with his Masters Degree in Public Administration. It has been tough as you all know and understand to find jobs, so it will be awhile. He does have a great part time job working for Community Minded Enterprises (CME), which I hope can turn into a full time job down the road. We will see. He is still at Spokane Transit Authority and is still a coach operator. The pay is great, and wonderful insurance but it is not challanging at all. If anyone has a lead on a job that you think Bryan might be interested in leave me a comment. I will pass on the information to him.
We had been debating for several months on wither we should put the house on the market to sell or wait tell he found a job. Our 5 year fixed mortgage was about to expire and his student loans were going to start needing to be paid in the next few months. Since the housing market seemed to be pretty slow we decided that when we went on vacation we would go a head and have the house go on the market to sell. We would not be home when the most people would want to come by and look at it. We figured it would be about 3 months tell it sold and were ready for the long wait.
As most of you know that is not what happened. It sold in 4 days. While we were on vacation. Cutting into my time looking for a rental for us to move into, tell we figure out if Bryan will have a job in a different city or if CME will hire him on full time.
I did get the call today that we got the rental that I have mentioned in previous posts. I went today and paid the deposit and first months rent. Tomorrow we do the walk through and get the key, and we can start moving stuff over soon after. I am boxing things up like crazy. We have a lot of stuff (well I have a lot of homeschooling/crafts/scrapbooking/kids toys, well......ummmm basically junk). Trying to declutter along the way. It has proven to be much more difficult with Ladybug who SCREAMS every time I leave the room.
So that is why we are selling our house. We didn't have to, just that we thought it would be the right choice for us at this time. We won't be tied down to the house when Bryan gets a new job, and if it is in a different city. Also, the neighborhood has really gone down hill since we moved in almost 5 years ago. With my van broken into for the 3rd time and a friend of mine's van broken into while she was over visiting me it was about time we thought about moving. There has been so many times the neighbors have done things that it really is time to move.
So here is hoping that the new neighborhood is a good one. It looks to be much quieter, and from what my friend Alyson says one of the Mom's club ladies lives just two houses down from the new place. :)
