We had a little accident in our home last night.
I was on the phone talking to the Primary President, trying to plan a meeting for the upcoming week. Bryan was giving Spencer a bath. While I was on the phone, I heard the water splash and then a bang, and then Spencer crying. I then heard Bryan say, "OH MY!" and then he was comforting Spencer.
My first reaction was to run to the bathroom to make sure everything was ok, but then I stopped myself....and reminded myself that Bryan can handle things. I got off the phone a about a minute later, and I went to the bathroom because I could still hear Spencer crying.
This is when I found Bryan trying to comfort Spencer, and then he saw blood all over Spencer's chest. (*it was watered down, so it looked like a lot more than there was). Bryan couldn't figure out where the blood was coming from, and then he saw that Spencer had cut /split his chin. He got really upset. Grabbed Spencer out of the tub and ran into Spencer's bedroom and put him on the changing table so that he could get a better look at Spencer's chin. I was telling him we need to dry Spencer off, but Bryan was running.
I managed to grab the towel and the box of bandaids. I followed them into the bedroom. There was a lot of blood and it was hard to tell just how big the cut was. We were going to take him to the emergency room....because it looked pretty bad, but after getting his p.j.'s on and finding some fancy bandaid to hold the cut shut, it started to clot and Spencer calmed down.
We picked him up and then he saw his bubbles sitting on his shelf...and pointed at them. I asked him if he wanted the bubbles and he shook his head "Yes" and so I blew him some bubbles and he laughted. So we figured he really was ok, and we didn't need to go to the emergency room. We kept him up awhile longer, gave him some tylenol med for any pain, reading books and he had some milk and then he wanted to go to bed. I checked on him several times through out the night just to make sure that he was ok, and he was. He doesn't even seem to mind the bandaids on his chin. Silly kid.
I guess he was trying to stand up in the tub (which we don't let him do, but sometimes he likes to give it a try) and Bryan was reaching into his bath net for the foam letters when Spencer's hands slipped off the side of the tub and he went down on his chin.
You would think that he would be afraid to try climbing up on things, now that he fell, but NOPE. He wants to do it more. I guess he will not be one of those kids who you have to tell them, "If the horse bucks you off, you just need to get back on." or something like that.
No Pictures....sorry. but it looks pretty gross.
