I got so tired of the Bug's Hair being over his ears and sticking up when he woke up in the morning or after naps. It was just to long. Bryan bought a new hair trimmer and I finally got the nerve to use it on the Bug. I set up a small bench in the living room so that he could watch Baby Einstein, and had a supply of Lolly Pops to keep him content. He did so good. But hair did get on the lolly pops and I had to continually rince them off with a cup of water. Bug sat still most of the time....but I still had a hard time cutting his hair straight. It took me an hour....and then I said "Enough"! It looked better to me right after it was done....but now I see tons and tons of messups. But He does look better with short hair. I like how the back turned out and the sides near his ears.
Here is a picture from earlier this week showing Bug reading some books from the Library. You can kind of see how is hair looked before.
So here is a pic. Don't laugh to hard. I didn't brush off all the cut hair really good...so you can see it in the picture.
He did have clothes on when I started the cutting, but I quickly took them off when the hair started falling.
Here is a picture of all the hair that I cut off. I vacuumed it up shortly after this picture. I think Bug realized this was his hair. Sad?
And here is a picture him taking a bath after the hair cut. There was hair everywhere! I needed to get it off of him. He enjoyed taking a bath in the middle of the day. He even let me wash his hair with out crying (only when I rinsed it because the water got in his eyes. He doesn't now how to lean his head back yet...working on it.) It was amazing to have him so calm while I washed his head.
I think that his Occupational Therapy session last Tuesday REALLY has helped. I have seen a huge improvement with him on several things.
1. Hair washing.
2. Drinking out of a big person cup.
3. Feeding himself with a spoon or fork.
4. Sitting still while I read him a new story.
5. Climbing up on his new stool.
6. Walking down stairs (short ones), and up stairs too.
7. And he is Talking UP A STORM!!!! He is Saying MOMMY all the time and UP all the time too.
I am smiling!!! I plan on telling the Occupational Therapyst this good news but also plan on talking to her about some concerns I had from the last session. Long Story and I have told most of you who read the blog. I am glad to see such improvement....but I do need to discuss some things I did not like at the first session.
Wish me luck.
Oh...here are a few pictures of the Lady Bug things that we did this week.
