Growing up

Bug didn't want to sleep in his crib during nap time today. He kept screaming and crying and kicking. Not fun. I pointed to the Monkey Bed and asked him if he wanted to sleep there, and he said "Yes" clear as day. He is getting better and better with pronouncing words. "Yes" usually comes out "eesss". I was surprised that I could understand Yes and that he wanted to sleep in the twin bed. So....I helped him gather up all his "Jennies" (a.k.a. giraffes * he has a total of 4 of them* ) and his new monkey pillow and proceeded to help him climb into the bed, and got him all tucked in. He quickly layed down and I sat at the end of his bed, while he relaxed (in his special "Bug" way- rubbing his favorite "Jenny" all over his face.) and then he fell asleep with in 5 minutes.
I had to come back and snap this picture...documenting my little boy's first offical sleeping in his big bed. He looked so cute! I am proud of him and all that he accomplishes each day.
And I guess I am off to purchase some bed rails so that he doesn't roll out! LOL!

congrats to you and spencer. we are going to try the same thing here soon. i'm the nervous one, not the little guy. i figured it was time when he managed to climb into the crib when we were in his room folding laundry. thank goodness he hasn't tried to climb out yet, and i mean yet.

How cute......you always feel like they have suddenly grown up or something when they leave the crib for a bed. Love the trip pics............its looks like you had a great time. Your menu for this week is awesome and if this weather continues I will be stealing your menu plan for next week.........I think it is meant to be cooling down soon though..hoorah!
