Well things have been still a bit stressful in our home. I am sorry to rant on my blog. I am trying to be a more positive person. Just hard right now.
Things were going well up until yesterday when I decided to participate in a Moms Club activity at the local bowling alley. I was nervous but I wanted to participate more. During the Summer we had not gone to much because of all the other activities we were doing. Bryan was able to come with me. So we headed to the bowling alley, Bryan, Me, Bug and Squeeker. We were a bit late because of our family chiropractic appointment that ran over. They were finishing up a game and them everyone except the hostess were heading out. We stayed with the hostess and her daughter and they began playing bowling. Now...they can't wear street shoes on the deck and they don't provide shoes in Bug's size so all the kids were in their socks. After about 6 rounds Bug decided to drop the bowling ball on his left foot. I was in the middle of feeding Squeeker when it happened and Bryan was right next to him tring to help him when Bug wanted to be independent and "Do it MY Self!" he said and grabbed the ball.
He started crying and all I could think was...."Breath! Bug! Breath!" He tends to hold his breath when he hurts himself. Then Bryan said, "We got Blood!" and I yelled out. The hostess for the play group took Squeeker from me and I went to Bug. He was hysterical. We got some ice and tried to take care of the toe. But Bug would not stop crying. I figured he broke his toe. We went to the ER at the local hospital and they took some X-Rays and yep he broke his left Big Toe!
Here is a picture of the brace they made for Bug and another pic of his sore toe. I feel so bad.
2 jittering comments:
oh! i am so sorry! i know how much toe injuries can hurt... i have lost both of my big toenails one way or the other...
ouch! i hope he feels better soon!
Oh, that sounds terrible. I do a bit of bowling and that has always been a fear of mine. Child #1 and my nephew (both six) bowled two years ago, they didn't have their shoe sizes either, and I was scared spitless that they would do that too. The independent phase is hard.
