1. It is cold and wet here.
2. All the trees have turned colors and the leaves are dropping.
3. Went to the Pumpkin farm again this past week with Bug’s Toddler class. We got to see how Apple Cider was made and try some. It was REALLY good. And we also got to try Apple Butter which is just a very smooth Apple Sauce. It was soooo good too. We rode a tractor train through the Apple Orchard and picked our very own apples from the tree. I just cut into the Golden Delish one that I picked and OH MY GOODNESS. It is YUMMY! The apples at the grocery story just can’t measure up to the taste of this apple.
4. I helped “gut” 14 pumpkins on Tuesday. They were for a Halloween Party for the Activity Day Girls (8-11 yr olds) in our church. I am an assistant to the leader of the group. The leader found this really cute craft to do with a photo graph of each of the girls on transpericy paper and a pumpkin. We cut out a square for the picture to show through and when you put an electric candle inside the picture would light up! It turned out really cool. I really am enjoying working with the leader and all the girls are a “HOOT”.
5. Bug’s Toddler Class is doing a Book-A-Thon. I have to get pleadges. At the end of two weeks we count up the number of books I read to him and then collect pledges. If you are interested in pledging email me or leave me a comment, and I will get into contact with you. The $ raised goes to help with supplies for the class such as paint, and other things.
6. We have done a few of our own Halloween crafts this past week. We did a pumpkin Mosaic, and Leaf Painting. Will try to share pictures soon. I am thinking of creating a list of pictures on the side bar with Bug’s Recent Art.
7. But has been saying he wants to dress up as a pumpkin for Halloween instead of the bee that I had already planned for. We were at my friend Alyson’s home last weekend, just hanging out when I came across a Pumpkin costume. She said that we could borrow it. I tried it on Bug. It was a tight fit. Not because he is fat but because he his torso is long. He GOT STUCK! We struggled for about 15 minutes trying to get him out. I seriously thought we were going to have to cut him out of it….but I never said anything. Alyson was great at figuring out how to get him out. Bug just screamed and cried and fought her attempts to free him. He was fine…and playing again with in minutes after he was free. LOL.
8. I hate that it gets dark at 6:30pm now. Sad. It makes me sleepy and tired at the end of the day. Can’t believe that Daylight Saving Time starts on November 4th this year.
9. Can’t wait tell October 27th….because my church is planning a Truck or Treat activity for the kids! I am excited. It should be FUN!
10. I have been going through all of Bug’s old clothes and have sorted them into the following groups.
Donation Station: Free clothes that I got since I am an Adoptive Parent for Bug. I am returning several of the items I got so that someone else can use them.
Just Between Friends: Clothes to sell at the big consignment sale in the Spring. I sold several items this past month and made a little money. Not much but I have TONS of clothes for the Spring and I think I will make more. I also am going through his old toys too. See if I can’t make some money from them too.
Friends: I have two friends who have boys who are just a year younger than Bug. And I have another friend who is due to have her first son in November.
11. It is really been freeing to get ride of all the extra stuff we have..and make some money with it too.
12. We just sold the old cat tree that we brought with us from California 5 years ago. The cats have not used it in 3 years. It is gone to a good home!
13. Looking forward to attending Enrichment tonight. My good friend Jamie is the one running it tonight. I am making Christmas Gifts for several of my family members. So I can’t show any pictures…don’t want to spoil the surprise. All of Bryan’s Family will get one and then also my little sister’s family. I have other plans for my parents and my older sister and niece.
14. I am on the hunt for any local craft fairs. Bryan went with me last year to one. I love going and just looking. Sometimes you can find really cool things. I do miss going with my little sister back in California. It was fun to attend them with her. Not sure really why, but I think of it often, and it makes me long to do it again.
15. Speaking of my little sister. She started up a blog. The name of her blog is Tater & Tot March. No Fear…..Mom of Twin Boys! I think that is such a cute title. I am happy that she decided to blog too…and look forward to new posts. Go check it out and post a comment on just how cute her boys are! They are CUTE!!
16. Bug had his ears checked at the ear doctor today. It was his 18 month check up on the tubes. We waited for almost an hour to be seen. CRAZY. I am glad that Bryan was with me because I don’t think I could have entertained Bug the whole time by my self. Bryan says it was this long because he came. All the other appointments that I have gone to with Bug we have only waited about 5 minutes in the waiting room and 5 minutes in the exam room. Bug did so good with the doctor. He let him look in both ears….no crying at all. He did laugh at one point.
That is all for now. Have a great day.
