Bug and I got to hang out with my friend Alyson on Saturday. We got to head to the Cabin that she and her Husband first lived in when they first moved to Spokane.
We met over at her house at 9:30am. Her husband’s Ex-wife and her two kids came too, older girl about 7-8 and then a boy who was 5.
Bug had a really good time with all the older kids. He was a bit shy at first, but he soon warmed up to them all. The older girl was such a huge help with taking care of Bug.
When we headed out, Bug was happy in the back seat…eating his peanut butter sandwiches and then he got quite a few minutes into the drive. We had not even got out of town when I looked back and he was a sleep. LOL
We got to Elk around 12noon. Bug was not happy to be woken up, and was a crying freak for about 20+ minutes. But I did manage to get him to calm down to do a few crafts at the Kid’s Activity that was going on. He made 3 sugar cookies, well put frosting on them and then proceeded to scrap off the frosting and eat it…until the cookie was wiped clean. He would not eat the cookie. LOL
Then he made a stocking out of construction paper and had fun sticking cotton balls on the top. He wanted me to write MOMMY, DADDY, GRANDMA, SHELBY, and his name on the stocking. It was funny.
Then the rest of the time he just ran around…making me a nervous wreck…fearful he would get lost. After most of the people had left, and things kind of slowed down…I was able to relax and enjoy a bowl of the best Soup (meat with veggies) I have had in a really good time. The kids played with the pool table that was in the room, and Bug loved putting the balls in the pockets, and then running over to where they come out. This kid and things that roll; he is in heaven.
After some time, we headed over to the Cabin. It was beautiful.
It was near one of the many lakes in the area. I have no idea what the lake was called. It was so cold that the edges were frozen. We had hot cocoa and the kids went out and played in the little bit of snow that was left. They even got to go sledding down a small hill. Bug was so excited about giving it a try that he would yell, “Bug’s Turn!!”
At 4:30pm we headed over to the City Park for the Bon-fire and to let the kids talk to Santa Clause. I don’t have any pics of this because it was dark and VERY COLD!!! Bug was tired from all the activities that day that he was crying most of the time…but he did do great when Santa Clause showed up. He even sat on his lap and didn’t cry. It was so funny. My friend Alyson took some pics so I am hoping that she will email them to me…so I can post them. LOL
