TOFW? What is that?
Time out for women! Kind of like a two day woman's confrence where women get together and listen to talks from their favorite LDS authors. It is filled with music and laughter and even a few tears from time to time when the spirit is really strong. Mostly it is a time for woman to get together and uplift each other. That is what that is. I was able to attend my 3rd Time out for Women event in Spokane yesterday. I have to admit I was not looking forward to going, for several reasons. The two most predominate ones where, I would be sitting for several hours and would be hungry for most of the event. Several of the ladies in my book club where going and they really wanted me to join them, so I planned for a baby sitter for Bug and packed some munchies for myself. At the last minute I got a ride with a couple of the ladies who were attending and I was so grateful since the St. Patrick's Day Parade was happening the same day and I had no idea where I was going to park.
The event was good. Nothing to different from the past events. The speakers were all new so they had different things to share. But it was really good still to be with my girl friends. And I think that is what it really was all about. There was one lady who spoke that I had no idea was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was Jane Clayson Johnson. She was the former co-ancher of The Early Show on CBS several years back. I did love her talk! She was amazing to me. The stuff she talked about really hit home to me. "Stop, Listen. I'm Here." was the title of her talk.
The music was amazing too. Hilary Weeks and a new trio group called Mercy River did the music for the program. It was uplifting and spiritual.
I do have to admit, each time I have attended the Time out for Women events they are just what I need to hear. I am glad that I had time to hang out with my girl friends during lunch and chat and catch up. It was good to be around all of them. They inspire me and help me to feel young.

I would have loved to go, but the tickets were too expensive. Glad you had a good time.

Jane Clayson Johnson was my favorite as well. I was so touched my her story of how you may have a plan for yourself but it's not always the same plan as Heavenly Father's plan for you. It was great!!!
