Surprise!

On Wednesday evening, December 29th Bryan and I had a date night to celebrate our 12th Anniversary. It was much needed! Taking care of two very needy kids tends to weir me out.

We had wanted to go see Phantom of the Opera when we heard about it over a year ago, but when we found out just how much each ticket cost that was out of the question. Even if we had that kind of money, I am not sure I really would want to spend it on that. Not sure. Since Phantom was out of the question we thought maybe going to a smaller live performance would be good, but when Bryan started looking for something for us to go see, he hit a dead end. Nothing was playing on a Wednesday night. So we were just planning on going out to dinner (not sure where) and go see a movie (not sure what). I have to admit, I was not to excited about the movie part. I was hoping for something more special. But, just the fact that we were going out with out the kids was special to me.

But then on Tuesday of this week Bryan told me that he had decided on where he was going to take me on Wednesday, and it was not to the Movies. It was a surprise! I was excited. I kept asking him through out the day to see if he would slip and tell me, but I was excited for the surprise. He didn't slip, and it made it so much more fun when Wednesday Night came and I finally found out what the surprise really was.

Once Shelby arrived to take care of the kids, we headed down town. After finding a parking spot, we walked the 2 blocks to where the most fun restaurant is in the whole world. The Melting Pot! Have you ever been there before? Have you ever experienced it? If you have not, and you have one near you, I recommend you try to go. It is VERY expensive, but well worth it!

It is a fondue restaurant. All your courses are served with a dipping sauce *.

First course was a Fiesta style fondue cheese with veggies.

Second course was some very tasty Cob Salads. *no dipping sauce*

Third course was a Cajun Style broth to dip and cook Salmon, shrimp, chicken, pork, and beef. We also had some different types of toppings to add to the meat. Such as a really yummy Apple Butter for the Pork. MMMMMMM!

Forth course was the BEST! Dessert! Bananas and white chocolate with cinnamon fondue! We got to dip rice crispy treats, marshmallows, strawberries, bananas, cheesecake, pound cake, and brownies into the chocolate. It was soooooooooo good! I have gotten my sweet tooth back. It was just so yummy!

It takes 2 hours to eat all the courses! I didn't believe that it would take that long, but sure enough, it did! The weirdest part ~ it didn't feel like 2 and a half hours passed!

It was a very fun evening! We talked about the kids mostly, but also about the past 12 years being married. Ups and Downs. It was very fun!

YEAH! I am so glad you had fun, I got a little worried about your food pickiness, so I am glad it went well. Happy 12th anniversary to you both!
