Love Story Part 1

Picture from our 1st Anniversary back in 1997. Sorry picture is not really good quality. I took a picture of a picture that is in one of my scrapbooks.

Since it is the month of October, and on the 26th Bryan and I will be celebrating our 12th Wedding Anniversary, I thought it would be fun to tell the story of how we met. Something to write about and something to focus on. I have been a bit consumed with the kids, and how my life has changed lately, that I wanted to try and remember what it was like to be young(er) and in love. Remembering a time when it was just the two of us, and were content with our selves and our lives.

The first time I met Bryan was when I was at work. I had just started working for a company called “Frame n Lens”. It was an eye glass store. We sold frames for glasses, and filed prescriptions for glasses. I had just started working at this store a few days before. It was in October 1995. I was nervous and scared out of my mind. I was trying to look like I knew what I was talking about when I was answering questions about the different frames we offered, and the types of lens we could make to fill the prescriptions. I had on my white lab coat on and kept putting my hand in my pockets of the jacket and rubbing the 3x5 card I had in it with all the information about the different types of lens we offered. I thought rubbing it would help me remember the information on the card.

It was the afternoon. The store manager was working with me and I think there was one other employee. We were pretty busy. There was 4 or 5 customers in the store. Bryan came in and I walked up to him to ask him if he needed any help. He wanted my opinon on frames. I helped him pick out two pairs since we had a “Buy One get the Second ½ Off” Special. I also helped him pick out the type of lens for the frames and upgraded him on a few products for the lens. I remember thinking that this job was going to be easy, since I was able to get him to buy all the extra stuff. Little did I know he was just saying “Yes” to my up sales because he thought I was cute.
