Love story part 5

When Bryan got home from Canada he called me and asked him out again.

This time he took me to Olive Garden for dinner. I remember sitting across from him at the table chattering away. I was so happy to be with him but nervous at the same time. I really liked him allot. He was just so nice and I felt so happy around him.

At one point during the evening while I was chattering away.....the following thoughts crossed my mind.

"He is not talking. Why is he not talking? Brenda, you are talking way to much! Stop talking. Look at him. He thinks you are crazy. He is probably thinking, "Wow she talks a lot. When will she stop so that I can get a word in?" Why can't I stop talking?"

He drove me home since I had to work the next day early. He had another gift for me. It was in a small jewelry box. He handed it to me in the car and I opened it as he drove. It was a neck less. A Canada Maple Leaf in turquoise. It was beautiful. I was touched that he got me it and then felt guilty that he kept buying things for me since, he was trying to make ends meet while living on his own in the U.S. while his family was in Canada.

As we walked to my door I asked him if he wanted to come to a New Years Eve party. He said sure and we made plans for New Years Eve.

My College Singles Group through the church I was attending was meeting at the church office to watch movies for the evening of New Years Eve. We also had games to play and food to eat. When the clock struck 12 midnight we all went out side and blew horns or rang bells, and shouted "Happy NEW YEAR!~ 1996!" Little did I know that this was going to be a very exciting year for me.

At around 1am Bryan was going to head home. I walked him to his car. He asked me if he could call me the next day and I said I would love it. We said good night. I must have headed home shortly after that as well. The next thing I know it is morning and the phone is ringing. It is Bryan. He wanted to know if I wanted to hang out for the day. I said YES. He came over to my place and picked me up. We then drove over to a local park that has a huge lake in the middle of it. We took a walk around the lake following the path. Talking and getting to know each other. Bryan did more talking than usual. I remember from time to time our hands brushing up against each other as we walked. I wanted to reach out and hold his hand so bad. After we walked around the lake, we drove over to Taco Bell to get something to eat. It was so fun just to hang out with him. We were there at Taco Bell for some time, and then he invited me over to his apartment.

I called my sister who was my room mate at the time, and told her I was going to still be out for awhile. Not that I really needed to check in with her, but I didn't want her to worry about me, and just in case anything happened she could get a hold of me. I got to see where Bryan lived. He was actually renting a room out of a house. He then explained to me that the girl I had heard on the phone that night when I called about the Christmas Caroling was a room mate. She also had a daughter that was 1 year old. They rented a room in the house as well. In fact there were several other people who rented rooms as well.

We hung out looking at pictures of his family and also from his 2 year mission. It was so nice to hang out with him and learn about his life. I just remember feeling so peaceful around him. It had been a very long time since I had ever felt such peace. I stayed the rest of the day and we watched some movies. It was the best day.

As the months went by we were together all the time. Bryan would come bring me lunch each day I worked. He would take my car and have it washed and detailed since he was working at a car rental place. I would go over to his place after work every day, and spend my evenings with him.

When Valentine's Day came, I was so excited to buy him a present to express how much I loved him.

To Be Continued....
