First Day of School 2009

Bug's official First Day of School! Well he actually has attended School already since he was in Pre-School for the last 4-5 weeks of last school year. But this is the official first day for a new school year. All the school paperwork that I had received over the summer said that last Thursday, August 27th was the first day of school, but I was sadly mistaken. Read this post to learn more.

So today we sat out in front of our house waiting for the school bus and when it arrived he climbed aboard. He looked a bit confused about the whole thing but quickly warmed up to the idea once he was seated and buckled in. Got a really cute picture of him. Often very hard to get a picture of him with out him looking confused most of the time.
I drove to the school to meet him there when he arrived and walked to his classroom. I just wanted to meet his teacher, since I had yet to say hi to her and see what she looked like. I know I probably am a very overly protective mother, but there is so much history when it comes to my son. Even history before he was born, and before we filled out the Foster to Adopt paperwork, or even before we found out we had infertility issues way back when. History that has built up over time and has caused me to be very protective of my special Bug. He has brought so much joy and pain and has taught me so much about myself. He is my life you can say.
Anyway, I got to meet his teacher briefly and then was off to head home. It was again kind of surreal being home and not having him around screaming and playing. He can be very active. It was pretty quite and only Ladybug was scurrying round under my feet. When Bug's bus arrived home he was quite and proceeded to lay on the couch for about 45 minutes watching "Between the Lions". But soon after he was his wild, overly active self. He said he had fun at school and was happy to have his friend from the other school in his class. Thank goodness for small miracles. He has a friend.

Yea for friends!
Looks like a fun first day.
I sometimes think I'm overly protective. They are still so young though.

Yay, I'm so glad he had a good time and has a friend. That makes it much easier I think. I understand being over protective. I can't even bring myself to put Princess ON the bus! Though, there are other issues that go into that decision (like for instance all the kids through high school age ride the same bus!) but anyway.. He looks so cute buckled into that big ole seat! I hope he has a great year.

Yea, I'm so relieved to hear that he enjoyed his first day of school.
Maybe it'll give you and Ember some more bonding time at home :)
