It is official!

We officially live in a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house! With a living room, dining room, kitchen, and family room!

I took a few pictures of the bathroom *sure to keep myself out of the refection in the mirror above the sink. LOL I had just gotten out of the shower, and my hair is in a turbie twist because I washed my hair. LOL* I also took a video of the whole downstairs....but I have no idea how to download the video from the camera to my lap top to then upload it to blogger. *sad* We have had a tough time figuring out the soft ware of this video camera.

So here are the pictures...hoping that you will understand what you are looking at.

Hubby started the Bathroom in January and is all done as of yesterday! March 20th!!!

Look what he did!

I am really blessed. I really am. Bryan is a very hard worker, and I need to remember that. I had some girl friends come over the other day to give us dinner after our Foster to Adopt son was removed from our home. It was a sad day and they wanted to come over and bring us dinner to show their love and support during this dificult time.

While they were here they wanted to see how our basement turned out. I love sharing my basement with my dear friends and basicly anyone who wants to see it. I am so proud of Bryan and what he can do. One of the ladies said to me that she has been waiting for several months (maybe years) for her husband to finish their basement and it still has not been done. She had called 4 different contractors to finish up the one room and they all have been flakes as well and still nothing is done. She helped me to remember just how blessed I am to have Bryan as my husband. He is a very hard worker....sometimes to hard ...and gets obsessed with a project. Sometimes I feel like I am forgotten in the thrill of the project. He is currently working on getting our new pellet stove in our fire place. Then he surprises me with a project to bless me and help me. You all might think it is funny and strange that I am going to write about a garbage pail holder and drawer under our sink, but I am so excited about it.

Bryan had bought a kit and tried to install it but our house is so old (1906) so the space under the sink is not the same size as all the new homes being built. He had to return the kit. He has been working on a solution in his head, and he did it!

Take a look!

Basement is DONE!!!

YEA!!!

The rug in the basement was offically installed on Thursday and finished up today! Which means that the basement is DONE!

I have a few pictures I wanted to share, because I am sooooooooo proud of my hubby and all the hard work he did to make the basement look so good.
I am going to include some before pictures. If you want to read my blog entry about the before pictures go here.

I was able to go shopping for a few hours today for some new bedroom stuff for Bug's new room! I went to several thrift stores looking for a dresser....but no luck. Then I went to Shopko, Linens n Things, T.J. Maxx, and finally Target. I found the cutest bedding!

I was having a very difficult time making up my mind what I wanted to do for a theme in his room. Racking my brain on what I new that Bug liked. All that kept coming to my mind was "Balls". Baseballs, footballs, basketballs, etc....but every time I went looking on-line or in stores for this type of theme, the colors were to dark, and they did not match with the paint I picked for the walls. So....I was stuck. Until I walked into Target and into their bedding section. I saw the perfect theme. If you have been in Target lately you might have noticed the Monkey/Surfing theme....I had several months ago but it was so exspensive so I didn't look at it to long. Well, today I saw it again and really fell in love with it all over again....then I realised it was on Clearence! Everything was 50% off! I got a lamp, blanket with two shams, twin sheets, Monkey body pillow, and a Monkey square pillow that has arms that you can play with. Here is a picture with the twin bed made. We will be moving Bug into his new room in the next week. He will still be in his crib for awhile longer, but the twin bed will be up. I will continue to look for a dresser for him this week.

I would love to read your comments on how the basement turned out, and just how cute Bug's new bedding is.

Carpet shopping!

Yep. We went shopping for carpet this morning. We went to a local remnent store and picked out two simular patterns of burber carpet. One for the Bug's new bedroom, and the other for the hall way in the basement. We got some swatches of the carpet we choose.

Bug's Carpet

Hallway carpet (sorry this picture is not clear)

Now I need to make a decision on paint for the walls. I hate picking out paint. I am not sure why it has to been so hard for me to decide. I guess there is just to much to choose from. We will be going out this week with our swatches to pick out the paint. I will try and let you all know what is choosen.

Weekend update

Weekend Update;
1. Bug is doing better. He is hating his antibiotics but I think I have found a solution to this problem. Since he needs to take the antibiotics with food I got to thinking I could mix it into some yummy smoothies and it seems to have done the trick. He drinks up the smoothie and doesn't even seem to mind the medicine.

2. Weather is finally getting warm! YEA. Bug and I spent some time outside today so that he could get some fresh air and sun. He enjoyed watering the few plants I have out in the back yard. I need to get more plants....flowers. I really want to make the back yard seem inviting. My mother and sister are both really good with plants and using them to decorate their front porches and back yard decks. I am not so good at this. I love being in gardens though....So I hope to create something I really am going to enjoy spending time in.

3 It is almost time to plant our tomatos and pumpkin sprouts. They have been living in our basement under some lights. They are so big now....and the nights are getting warmer....so it is almost time.

4. Bryan is almost done with the basement. I have been really bad about taking pictures. I am bummed about this, but he is just so fast at each stage of the project that before I can get down there to take a picture he is already onto the next stage. He sprayed the texture on the walls and ceiling last week, and also primed the walls and the ceiling. We are going to go out looking for carpet for the stairs and hallway and then also Bugs new room. Once we get the carpet then we can get some paint picked out. We will be painting rooms very very soon. Or I should say....Bryan will be painting. I hate painting. Almost as much as emptying my dishwasher when the dishes are all clean. *that is a whole nother blog entry*. We will also be painting Bugs old room for the new baby we will be placed with sometime this Summer or Fall. We are hoping it is a girl so we are painting the room a pale mint green and the bedding will be pink and green. Atleast that is what I am picturing in my mind.

This is it for now.
Hope you are all having a great day.

Hubby working on Basement!

This post is to brag about my Hubby. He has been working hard on making our basement look more like people live there, and I have been meaning to post some pictures of the progress...but I have been a bad wife. Sorry hubby.

So I am going to post some pictures of the progress today. I wish that I had more. I guess I need to go get more pictures.
This is a picture of some of the framing that he did to create a hallway into the one finished room down stairs. I am standing in my future Laundry room and looking out the place where the door will be.
This is a picture of a view from the hallway looking at the wall that will become the laundry room door and room. You can kind of see the stair case off to the left of the picture.

This is a picture of the same view as above but now there is a door installed.

Now hubby is working on wiring. It is giving him a fit, but I have faith in him that he will figure out how to do a three way switch. Thanks to the help of some friends from church, he might get it figured out by the week.

I don't have a before picture or after picture of the stair case....but he closed that all in and made the stairs more safe to walk on. Once everything is done, they will be carpeted. Yea!
It is cool how it is coming together. I know my Hubby would like it to be coming along quicker, but I am still so proud of him.
