Family Fun!

Our church had a Family Fun day.  They had several activities and food for everyone to enjoy.  Face Painting, Bouncy slides, Rope climbing and balancing, Hot Dogs and Pop Corn.  It was extremely hot and not much shade.  The kids had a great time.

Ladybug got a cute unicorn on her face.

Bug started off with a mustash....but it progressed.....

Orange and green added.

Two thumbs up....we love it!!!

Modern Technology

I love modern technology ... well most of the time I do.
I am watching General Conference on the BYU Channel on my computer!
They have it live! Or you can watch past recordings. I have been watching the talks from Saturday Morning! LoVe It!!!!

We don't have to pay for Dish Network and then deal with the weather knocking our dish out of alinement! Like it has done in the past. I am just so excited.

Hope everyone is having a GREAT SUNDAY! It is Sunny here today so this afternoon I will be heading out with the kids to enjoy the SUN!

Park! Here we come!!!!

Thankful Day 24

I am thankful for Bug's Sunday school teachers.

Bug actually has had the opportunity to go into the Sunbeam class early. The change over usually happens the first Sunday in January, but the leaders in the Primary felt that Bug would benefit with the change sooner than later. So yesterday was Bug's first day in the Sunbeam class. (kids that are 3 turning 4)

I had to stay for Junior Primary's Sharing Time (the group lesson for the 4-7 year old), but he went into his classroom all by himself. I hope that next week he can do it all by himself. He was a typical 3 year old in the fact that he had a hard time sitting still, and he did run around the room one time. I was embarrassed but the teachers said it was OK, and that it was normal. I know this but it was still hard to watch him misbehaving. I guess I just wish he was more reserved, but this is NOT Bug. He is very active. He did really well considering. Music time was fun for him, and the kids are working on a song to sing during church in December called "Stars Were Gleaming". It was cute to watch the kids practicing. I plan on working on this song with Bug so that when he goes up to sing with the other kids he will know the song. Not sure if he will really sing, since it will be his first time up in front of the congrigation, but it will not hurt.

So I am thankful for the teachers in Primary. They were patient with my little boy. They helped me to not worry about him, and were excited to have him join their class early.

Thankful Day 22

I am thankful for my laminater! Well actually I LOVE my laminater!
I am working on laminating some Family Home Evening Kits that I am putting together for the FHE group I joined last month. I have 8 kits to put together. My theme is Noah's Ark, and I have been having fun finding clip art and lesson material to share with the ladies in the group.
I can't wait to see what the other ladies put together with their themes.
December 5th we meet to exchange our kits.

Thankful Day 18

I am thankful for Eternal Families.
November 18, 2006 Bug was sealed to Bryan and Me in the Spokane LDS Temple.
It was the most beautiful ceremony.
Even though Bug cried the whole time.
We arrived an hour before the ceremony. Met with the Temple President. Showed him all the adoption paper work, and our family history information.
Then Bug went with some friends tell it was time for him to come into the sealing room. Our friends got Bug dressed in his white jumper. Bryan and I got dressed in our white temple clothes, and headed to the Sealing room. The room was filled with all of our friends who had been with us during the long journey to become a family.
Then Bug was brought into the room. He was very quite. He didn't recognize us at first wearing our temple clothes, but once he did he cried and climbed into our arms.
We kneeled around the alter in the middle of the room and held hands. Bugs hand was placed upon Bryan and my hands, and the Sealer said a few words and pronounced us a Family.
It was a very quick ceremony but a very meaningful one.
We are stuck with each other for all eternity.
You can watch a short video of pictures inside of several Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Temples. Enjoy.

Sunday Great!

I made it to church on Sunday! It has been forever since I have been able to attend Manito Ward! It was so great to see all my friends. Several people came up to us to say hi to our little new Lady Bug and check on how I am doing.

Bug made me so proud! He walked right into the Nursery all by himself. He didn't need Daddy in there at all. Bryan and I went to Sunday School with Lady Bug and then the third hour I took Lady Bug to be fed, and Bryan did end up going in to help with Nursery. The room is just too small with the number of children they have in there. I think there is 20 kids in a 15 x 15 space. Way to small. And Bug just can't contain himself with all the kids around. He does good for a while but then he loses it. I am hoping that they will come up with a new room for the nursery soon.

Happy Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day!!!

This morning Bryan, Bug and I were able to attend the Ward Memorial Day Pancake Breakfast and Kiddie Parade!

It was so great to see all my friends at church, since it has been a while since we have been going to 1st Ward's Sacrament meeting starting in January of this year. Bryan works on Sunday's and his shift starts at 11am so he would miss church if we went to our ward (Manito ward) because they start at 11am. So unfortunately I have not seen my friends and I miss them. It was great to be apart of all the energy. The kids were running around the Gym where the tables were set up with red table clothes and set with syrup and butter for the pancakes. The only thing that is hard for me at these events is allowing my son to run around FREE like all the other parents. I get so worried that he will get lost or that some person will kidnap him. I am a worry~wort. I need to have in my eye sight at all times, and when he is not I am so uptight that I feel sick to my stomach. I wish deep down inside I can be like all the other parents out there who seem so relaxed and happy allowing their little angles run around and play and have fun. I want this so bad, but I can't seem to let my worry~wort self go. So today was no different and I didn't get a chance to relax and catch up with my friends. Unfortunately, several of my friends could tell I was not paying attention to them while they were talking because I was watching my son, and when he would get out of site I was off looking for him. I told him several times to please stay in the Gym area and not to go into the hallway of the church building. When the 3rd time of me asking him nicely failed, I threatened him that he would get a time out, and then had to follow through with the punishment in the corner of the gym. But it seemed to kind of work. But then we all headed out to the parking lot for the Kiddie Parade, and he was all over the place, and the fact that there were cars (that could soon begin moving) I was a nervous wreck. I managed to step back a little bit and allow him some freedom to run and have fun during the parade but he was running in front of bikes and scooters and such, with an evil laugh as the kids were trying to dodge running into him. He thought it was funny. I wanted to tell him that it was dangerous as well as rude to run in front of the kids on the bikes but I just didn't have the energy to do it. I was exhausted from walking with this extra weight of a baby and such, and the fact that I had to go to the bathroom every 15 minutes it seemed like. *My bladder was hurting pretty bad, because I couldn't convince Bug to leave the parade to come with me to use the bathroom. I didn't want anyone else to have to deal with watching him when they were watching their own children.*

Dispite my negative words I really really really am glad that I went. I just wish that I was not such a worry~wort and I wish that Bug was not so Free Spirited. I am worried that this baby girl is going to be just like her brother and I will have two of them on my hands.

My thoughts...

1. So glad that it is Raining today! It has been so warm here for the past 3 days (high 80's). The heat has caused my feet and hands to swell. Today they are doing MUCH better.

2. Can't believe that it is Memorial Day next Monday! My friend Renee' has invited me over for a BBQ since Bryan works that day. Bug and I are looking forward to the activity.

3. Can't wait tell Book Club next month. We are discussing "Twilight". I just can't wait.

4. Got tire on van repaired but the repair shop said that it was not slashed but rather torn. I have no idea what I might have rubbed onto to cause it to tear. Very confused by that. But we have a new tire and that is good.

5. Got my book Before Five in a Row in the mail. Very happy. Also got the first book from the library yesterday that goes with the Before Five in a Row outline. Bug loves the book. Now I need to come up with some activities. Easy ones.

6. Can't wait tell June for Playgroups to start up again with my church. And I have decided that I am going to coordinate a second play group starting in June through August. This way Bug and I are getting out of the house with some friends at least 2 times a week. I am calling the weekly activity Park Day. I have several of my friends say they are interested so I am excited that this could happen.

7. I also might coordinate a Frozen Meal Swap Group with the church. I was talking to the Enrichment Counselor in Relief Society (my church ladies group) and mentioned that I wish I had more frozen meals for when the baby comes to help with dinners. My friend Alyson is in a similar type group for the MOMS club she is in and I thought it would be fun. So I am researching the idea and what I might have to do to coordinate this group and then getting back to the Enrichment Counselor to let her know if I want to be on an action committee for the activity. Just don't want to get in over my head. I tend to do that sometimes.

8. Bug got his hair cut yesterday. Buzzed!!! At first I was rather shocked when I saw him, but the cut has grown on me. We decided to buz him because of the warm weather and the fact that he has some scalp issues. Bug hates (and I don't say that lightly) to have his hair washed. He FREAKS out about it and you would think I was KILLING HIM when I try to wash his hair. I do have great news to report that last nights hair washing was a great success. He did very well, and the fact that the water was not dripping into his face from his hair really helped. I also think his eyes are huge and he has long eye lashes because his hair is so short. He keeps coming up to me and asks me "How do I look?" with a big cheesy grin on his face. LOL

9. Next Tuesday night Bryan and I are going to the movies. I am excited about seeing Prince Caspien. It has been several months since we have gone out alone.

10. Bug has his Physical Therapy evaluation last week, and the Therapist said that he was REALLY OK. So NO PT for now. Yea!!!! I am relieved. I really am. I thought he was fine but the Occupational Therapist kept pushing that we have him seen. We are also taking a Summer Break from Occupational Therapy for the summer. I think it is time for a break, and possible change. I have him scheduled for an evaluation with another Occupational Therapist but that will not be until July. I wanted a second opinion and see if someone else can help him out with his Sensory Input Issues.

That is all for now.

Busy week...

Just have had a busy week. Tired most of the time *wonder why? hu?* Still have that silly cold! It has been over a month and I am still coughing. I went to see my family doctor on Tuesday to see if he could give me help but NOPE! So I have resorted to going to see my Chiropractor every day for the next week or so to get adjustments to help my imune system and he is also doing a lazer treatment on my lungs. It is harmless and won't hurt the baby at all. I guess I have seen some improvement because I am sleeping a bit better, but I still sound like I have a frog in my throat when I talk.

I do want to give you all an update of my busy week:

Monday: My friend Alyson came over and watched Bug for me while I went to my Genetic testing Appointment. Things didn't turn out the way they were, because of the holiday and the fact that the baby is measuring a few days bigger than the cut off of the test. I was not able to do the genetic testing because they were closed but I did get another U/S and I am not complaining about that. I got to see the baby again and that made me happy. Here are some pictures!
Baby's face. Looking down at the baby...face to the left and tummy on the right.
Baby's legs streched out. Looking up from under neath the baby. Can't tell yet if it is a girl or boy yet. Still to early.
Side profile of the baby.

Another 4D version showing the baby with it's legs straight out. Couldn't see the face clearly though, but the legs are funny.

Tuesday: Took Bug to OT today and he did very well. There was a little girl in his session. They both started off really shy, but after about 5 minutes they were the best of friends. This made me feel good. Now we need to work on respecting people's space. He has begun hugging and such with kids and adults that he likes and doesn't ask them first if it is ok. He usually comes up behind them to hug them. Even though this can be a problem I see this as a step in the right direction, since in the past he would not even get near other kids or adults to even have them talk to him. I think this is a good thing, and teaching him to ask before he hugs someone will be pretty easy to work on.

Also, on Tuesday went to see my family doctor to help with this cold that I have had for over a month. No help. :(

Wednesday: Went Visiting Teaching and in the afternoon (5pm) went to Chiropractor for appointment.

Thursday: My visiting teachers came over to my house. Went to Chiropractor for another appointment.

Friday: Got a massage from my friend Alyson. Spent the rest of the day making Blueberry Smoothies for the Church Activity Day girls Confrence. And making up recipe cards to pass out to the girls.

Saturday: Got up bright and early today and headed to the church for the Activity Day Girls Confrence. Taught the girls how to make smoothies. Got to use my Magic Bullet! The girls loved the smoothies and the Magic Bullet too!

On top of all of this I have been planning Bug's 3rd Birthday Party. I have decided to keep things really small. Only inviting 3 of his close friends. They will come over next Saturday. Not sure if I will actually do games *maybe 2 games* or not. We will see how the day goes. The theme is going to be Curious George. Still looking for plates and cups and not sure if I am going to be successful at finding them. Will have to do with what I can find. I am also trying to decide if I am going to do an Ice Cream Cake, or have Banana Splits. Bananas----Get it? Curious George is a monkey and monkey's like bananas. LOL. We will see.

oh, and one last thing. Report on the Dinner menu for this week. Didn't follow it AT ALL this week. It just didn't work out. For so many different reasons. I either was not in the mood for the meal scheduled or I was not home to start it. I was tired allot this week too. So I am going to keep the schedule for this coming week and see if I can make it happen. Maybe it is the food I am cooking, not sure.

Trunk or Treat

Our church (ward) had a Trunk or Treat activity this weekend. It was the best time I have had in a long time. For those of you who are not sure what a Trunk or Treat activity is, I will try to explain. People meet in a parking lot and decorate the trunks of their cars/vans/trucks, and pass out candy to the trick-or-treaters. The kids go from car to car and say “Trunk or Treat” and collect candy from each car.

It has been several years since the ward we belong to organized this event/activity. So there was much excitement about the event finally happening. We ended up having three wards participate (and many other non-members and others from other wards too). There were TONS of people, which made it so much fun.

The evening started at 5:00pm with dinner. The gym was set up with many round tables with Halloween decorations. Families signed up to bring either soup or chili in crock pots and they were set up on a long table for the people to dish themselves up! I made that Taco Soup and it turned out so Good! It was eaten all up. And I had a couple people come up to me and tell me how much they enjoyed it. That made me feel good.

At 6:00pm we had a costume parade. Bug was dressed up in his Bee costume and looked so cute! He got many comments on his costume too. Then we all headed out into the halls of the church building to participate in games and win prizes. Bug played Pumpkin Bowling, Ghost Bowling, Ghost Lollipops (made a ghost out of a lollipop), Spider Walk (cake walk), Scary Ghost Stories, Leaf Rubbings. He loved the story time! Amazingly, he sat there and looked at the books while the Story Witch read the stories. We did this activity two times.

Then the real fun began at 7:00pm! We headed out to the parking lot and the Trunk or Treating had already begun. Some people started early. Bryan wanted to decorate our Van Trunk so he grabbed a dark sheet and pinned it up. He took some pumpkins and some spider web stuff and decorated the trunk. I had bought some candy to let him pass out while Bug and I went Trunk or Treating! Bug did so good! He held my hand and his Pumpkin Bucket and went up to each trunk and said “Trick or Treat” and then “Thank you” after he got his candy. I was so proud of him. There were tons and tons of kids and it did get a bit scary from time to time with the number of kids but we just skipped ahead and things were better with less kids. Bryan was out of candy before we got all the way around the parking lot. He was amazed how many kids where there. Bug got some GOOD candy! He got to go through two times because our van was stuck in the middle to the parking lot and there were a lot of kids still trick or treating. Daddy went with him the second time and I got some pictures of him.

Bug has been so nice to share his candy with us his loving Mommy and Daddy! LOL! ;)
