Thursday thoughts...

Just some random thoughts.

1. Why does my son wake up at the crack of dawn. And I mean the crack of dawn. It was 4:30am this morning when he woke up and the sun was up. He thought it was morning and kept saying, "But the sun is up."

2. Need black out curtains for my son's room, or I might just tape up some tinfoil, to keep the sun out of his room at 4am.

3. The Tinfoil will fit very well for the house that has a broken frige and smashed metal storage garage in the back yard, and the crab grass lawn. I have called the rental company every single day for the past week to have the broken frige removed from my back yard, and keep getting the run around. The lady who runs the company promises that the frige will be removed tomorrow or Saturday. I am at my wits end. What should I do if it doesn't happen?

4. The joys of renting a house. (see number 3)

5. Love having my phone back. Have to rememeber I can call long distance anytime I want now and there is no extra charge. I have been so use to using calling cards to make my long distance calls that it feel so weird. I had a long talk with my mother this morning because I COULD with out any guilt. NICE!

6. Love finding paperwork (art & school work) that my son does in his back pack after school each day. Oh and a shout out to my friend Alyson who asked her son if Bug could borrow one of his back packs since I could not find one for Bug when he started school. Wrong time of the year to be looking for a new back pack. Alyson's son was so nice about letting Bug borrow his Incredible Hulk back pack. Bug loves it and looks so cute. I need to remember to get a picture of him.

7. Nervous about going to our new church ward this Sunday. I hope that we fit in. I did speak to the Primary President yesterday and informed her of some of Bug's issues. I hope he fits in well with his class, and his teachers.

8. Love watching Ladybug crawling all over the place. She is getting so fast!

9. Ladybug has been having a difficult time falling a sleep to take her naps and go to sleep at night. It has been the last two days. It is frustrating to hear her crying, and I have done back in to comfort her after about 30 minutes of crying on an off, but she will just start crying again when I leave. She finally does fall asleep, but it just seems hard for her. She is now 9 months old so this might be a developmental thing but it is still hard. I have started the teething tablets again thinking she might be teething. It has been 3 months since the bottom two came in.

10. Ladybug has started shaking her head "NO" a lot the past few days. It is funny to watch her copy me when I do it.

11. Need to get out on a date night with my husband. So need to spend some time with him. I feel like I have lost contact with him. Hoping that next Wednesday we can go out.

12. Have been walking in the morning with my friend Alyson each day. It has been good to get moving each morning. I have been enjoying chatting with Alyson (althought I really need to work on not hogging all the talking time) and I have also loved getting a chance to listen to my Maniac Mommies podcast on my way back to my house.

13. Found my family picture and can't wait to get Bryan to hang it up.

Just playing

I was playing around with this picture that I took of the kiddos earlier this week. Ladybug still has the chicken pox but I was able to do a little bit of some photoshop work and clear up her complextion. The scabs are so gross. I like how the picture turned out. It is a bit white in the face area, but I like how it makes her eyes pop. Bug is a kissing fool. He keeps kissing Ember, Me and Bryan. It is so funny. Maybe I will do a photo shoot here soon. I wish I had a better camera, but I guess I can try anyway hu???

Playdate-Babysitting

Had the opportunity to watch a friends kids a week ago. It was SO much FUN! Her two youngest (boys) are just so sweet. Bug enjoyed playing with the older boy (2 years old) and Lady Bug had a great time rolling around with the youngest (7 months old?)

Sick again...*sad*

Bug is sick again! I really hate it when his nose is all runny and he rubs it all over his sleeves of his shirts and then on me too.

He woke up this morning coughing and gagging from all the snot in his head. I tried to get him to blow his nose (still have not mastered that) and when he couldn't do it I pulled out the bulb syringe. Surprisingly, Bug let me do it. He cried when stuff came out but he let me continue.

We have opted to stay home from church today. Don't feel like everyone else wants our germs. I was looking forward to showing off Lady Bug again today, but I guess it is best that we stay home and all get better. I have had a sore throat for the past few days too. I think I will try and take a nap today. We will see. When Bryan gives me a break from the kids, I usually want to do some blogging, and no napping.

Hope you all have had a great weekend, and a wonderful Sunday!

HOT!!!

It was so hot yesterday. 105 degrees here at my home, but I think the news stations were saying that it got to 101 degrees offically.

Needless to say, I have been sitting in front of my small window box air conditioning unit, with water, and a squirt bottle to spray both me and Bug down with from time to time.

Just way to HOT! I hear that it is suppose to get to 97 degrees today, but to tell you the truth, anything over 90 degrees I am melting, cranky, sore, swollen, and unhappy. Coming this Wednesday it is suppose to drop to 66 degrees with rain. I can't wait tell Wednesday.

Award!!!

I got this award from my blogger friend Brenda at Welcome to Country Romance from the heart.
I was so surprised when she sent me a comment saying she had something for me at her blog.
Brenda and I have a lot in common, more than just our names. Her husband's name is Brian, and her sister married a Bryan. My sister's husband's name is Brian.
She also has a daughter who is pregnant and due very close to my due date. Small Small world.

What a happy surprise. I have been tying to think of who I wanted to pass the award on too.

Once an award is received, the rules are as follows:

1. Put the logo on your blog.

2. Add a link to the person who awarded you.

3. Nominate at least seven other blogs.

4. Add links to those blogs on your blog.

5. Leave a message for your nominee on their blogs.

It was difficult to pick only seven, so I picked a total of 10 blogs. I have been visiting these 10 blogs for quite a while and I keep coming back for more.

In no particular order:

1. Renee's Blog: 2 yrs. old...Busy, Busy Little Bee- Renee' Blogs about her 2 year old very curious Adoptive Son. She and her hubby just bought a house about a year ago and she shares about the house repairs and what it is like to be a newly, Stay at Home Mommy. She has embraced her role and loves to make new meals for her family and post the recipes she likes.

2. Jennie's Blog: A Little Bit of Us- Jennie blogs about the stuff she loves. About her husband and about her work and family. She shares "Sweets and Sours" posts from time to time and has a heart for a dear friend who has been stricken with a very serious illness and helped raise money for treatment for her dear friend.

3. Becky's Blog: Becky Wilson and Family- Becky's blog is about her family and all the fun stuff they are doing. Her husband recently graduated as a Doctor in Iowa! They took a family trip to Disney World. I met Becky when she and her husband were still living in Spokane. They were the apartment managers at the apartment complex we were renting from before we bought our home 4 years ago.
4. Jamie's Blog: Christensen Family- Jamie blogs about her kids and all the fun stuff her 5 kidlets are up too. Bug and her son Cam are best friends. They are only a month apart and have so much in common! She also makes all those really cool vinyl lettering that is so popular right now.
5. Tami's Blog: The Girls and Dad B.- Tami blogs about all the cute and fun things her three daughters are doing. I met Tami at an Adoption Conference back in 2004, and we have been close friends ever since. We have so many things in common that it is almost like we are twins separated at birth.
6. Andrea's Blog: Just-about-perfect- Andrea blogs around organizing with three little ones under foot. Her posts are so much fun to read, and the pictures that her oldest daughter takes and Andrea posts are priceless. Sometimes I feel like we are kindred spirits. We are hoping that one day we will meet face to face.
7. Alyson's Blog: Life as I know it- Alyson blogs about her 5 year old son (almost 6 years old) and all the fun activities he is doing. She is homeschooling him and enjoying all the stuff he is learning and the whole process of homeschooling. I get to see Alyson on a weekly basis as she is my massage therapyst. She inspires me about homeschooling and has been a huge help deciding what educational path I think we will be taking with Bug down the road.
8. Jenny's Blog: Tater Tot March- Jenny is my sister and started her blog up recently. I love the posts that she shares of her twin boys (my cutest nephews) and some of the other funny things that happen to her during the day. She is also a new Stay at Home Mommy learning how much work taking care of twin boys every day all day long can be, but loving it at the same time.
9. MaryRuth's Blog: Team Franks- MaryRuth blogs about her church calling, her favorite recipes, her job, scrapbooking, and the most recent wonderful news on becoming pregnant. We met on a scrapbooking website back in 2002 and found out that we lived in the same town, and became close friends. Both of us going through infertility brought is even closer. When I found out I was pregnant at the beginning of this year I was worried how to tell MaryRuth, but to my surprise she had happy news to share with me too. We are both finally pregnant and even though she lives in Texas now, we still stay in touch.
10. Kristen's Blog: Snips Snails and Pigtails-Kristen blogs about the adoption process of her foster to adopt daughter. She was born a few months before Bug was and had her from birth. Their situation was a very long process, and it was a very emotional roller coaster ride. I forget how I found her blog but I have been blessed to read her posts. When her daughter's adoption became finalized in either January or February, I cried! I remembered the day when we finally adopted our Son and how special it was and knew that her family was on cloud nine! Her daughter is the cutest little princess ever!

So there are my nominees for this award. I hope you go visit each of their blogs if you have not done so already.

Thanks again Brenda for the award! It is my first of many more I hope!

Quiet Weekend...Much needed

Nothing new to report. Very quite weekend for me.

Did get to go over to my friend Jamie's house for Bug and her son to have a play date. It was nice to see Jamie and chat and watch the boys play. Bug was very excited about playing with his friend. He also did great when it came time for us to leave. No melt downs at all. WOW!

Tonight Bryan and I are going out on a date. Much needed too.

Bug's favorite baby sitter is coming over to watch him for us. I told him yesterday that she was coming and he started running around screaming, "YEA!!!!" He then ran to the front door looking for her. LOL I love the fact that he enjoys her coming over, because it helps me to relax when Bryan and I go out. I can enjoy myself because I know he is having a good time.

We are going to see "Kung Fu Panda" and some ICE CREAM from Ben and Jerry's! I probably will get a milk shake. I hope that I can sit through the movie and not have my legs cramp up like last month. The movie is only an hour and 1/2 so that should help.

Also my roses are blooming and so are the pionees too. The picture above is not one that I took but one that I found on the Internet, but mine look just like them. I cut some and put in a vase and they are sitting on my entertainment center for me to enjoy. When the roses bloom a bit more I plan on cutting them and bringing them side to enjoy. I will try and take some pictures and post my actual flowers. In the mean time enjoy the picture above. Pionees remind me of roses and carnations all in one. FUN!

Kisses

My Mom sent this link to look at pictures of this new little baby giraffe born a few days ago in the same town that my Sister and Brother -in- Law live. I LOVE giraffe's as much as I love lady bugs. I just fell in love with this picture of the Mommy Giraffe kissing her baby. Look at her lips. Animals care about their babies too!

* Going to my monthly appointment with my doctor. Bug is coming with us. I am excited about him coming. I hope he does well, and is not to bored. I hope he likes hearing the baby's heart beat. We will see.

500th POST!!!

This is my 500th post!

I can't believe it! I started blogging back in September 2005 because of my friend MaryRuth. She told me about it and once I created my blogger account I was hooked. I love the idea of my family and Bryan's family seeing what we were up too, plus it was a way for me to journal about the important things in my life.

Since it is my 500th post I thought I would take a moment and review all my old posts. I would like to share the links to some of my favorite ones in the past 2 1/2 years. Hard to believe that it has been that long.

Oh and you can leave me new comments if you like on the posts if you want.

Slashed

Got dressed and Bug into the van this morning to head to church. Bryan was driving his truck because he has a new work schedule and has to leave at 10am to go to work. I was going to follow him in the van. He took off and I pulled out onto the road, and very quickly I realized that something was not quite right with the van. I got about 2 blocks when I pulled over and looked out my window and saw that my back left tire was FLAT! I managed to get back home. I honked at Bryan but he kept going. I got home and called him from the house to tell him that I was home and could not make it to the church building. He came home and we looked at the tire. I kept thinking I could just go over to the gas station behind our home and pump it up, but it really looked flat. I showed him how flat it was by touching the top of the tire and pushing down and then we saw it. Someone Slashed the TIRE!!!
Can you believe that? I am still in shock. Bryan will put the spare on tomorrow and then go buy a new tire. Uggg. More money down the drain.

My mind keep going blank...

Rambling thoughts....

1. I love that Bug is getting so good using the computer. He uses the touch pad and plays his on-line games on PBSkids, Noggin, Playhouse Disney, and Nick Jr. He is getting really good with his hand eye coordination.

2. Bug has a really bad cold. Stuffy/Runny nose and a cough. I was up with him most of last night trying to help him. Vicks vapor rub worked really good for him last night. I would rub some on every 4 hours or so and he would relax and fall right back to sleep.

3. Wish that Bug knew how to blow his nose. He keeps rubbing his runny nose slime on his sleeves. EEEWWW!

4. Got a massage today. Very much needed. My neck was really tight.

5. Starting to wear my maternity clothes. I still feel like it is way to early to wear these clothes, but I am going ahead and taking the plunge for several reasons. Don't want people to think I am just FAT. I CAN NOT FIT INTO ANY OF MY OLD CLOTHES. You should have seen me trying to find a dress or skirt to wear this past Sunday to go to church. EEEWWW! is all I can say. I put on a black dress that my sister had given to me that she had when she was pregnant and it fit really good and I felt really comfortable. I also went to a used clothes store yesterday that sells kids and maternity clothes and found 3 new tops and a skirt. I was happy.

6. Can't wait tell Tuesday of next week! We will have another U/S to see what the sex of the baby is. Here's hoping that the baby is not to shy. Oh and the Dr. scheduled some more tests to be done during the U/S to check for Down Syndrome. The blood work that I had done (Quad-Test) back on March 3rd came back positive for Down Syndrome. But this is only a screening and the odds were 1 in 15. This screening is not very accurate and several of my friends have told me that they have had positives or know of family members who have had positive results from the screening and the baby they deliver is healthy and does not have the condition. Dr. Hilton thinks my results are 1 in 15 because of my age.

7. I am nervous to learn more about the Down Syndrome test during the U/S but at the same time I really am calm about it too. I strongly feel that the baby does not have this condition. Can't explain why. I hope it is not because I want it so badly....but because it is the Spirit confirming this to me. But even if this baby does have this condition I ---We can get through this. We went into being placed with Bug when he was only a Foster Child knowing the moment that we met him that we wanted to adopt him...and he was only 13 days old. We had no idea what challenges we would face with him because of genetics or drug exposure. It didn't matter so this baby that Bryan and I have created should be even more excepted don't you think?

8. Speaking of Bug and issues/challenges with him. Each passing day I come closer and closer to thinking that he might have Asperger' a form of Autism. These children are very smart, sometimes called Little Geniuses but they have issues in social situations. They have a hard time reading feelings in others, and expressing their own feelings with others. I have had several people mention to me that he might have this...his Gymboree teacher, his Speech Therapist and also my friend Alyson who has a disabled step-son. I have had the feeling that he might have this after I checked out Bug's old baby sitter's homeschooling blog. She moved to the East Coast over a year ago and I had no idea that her oldest son was diagnosed with this condition until I read her blog. After reading about this I realized that even though her son is not mine that I could see some possible similarities. I have yet to have him evaluated, not sure really where to have this done...do have a name of a behavior therapist that I might call and schedule an evaluation, but not sure.

9. We woke up on the First day of Spring with snow falling and several times today I have looked out and saw hail falling from the sky! CRAZY!!!

Shoveling

Bryan had to go into work yesterday while the biggest snow storm to hit Spokane since 1992 was dumping the snow. I texted him at 4pm to call me as soon as he had a break, because the news on the TV was crazy! I needed to make sure he was ok. He called me back 2 minutes later and informed me that he was sitting on his bus which had gotten stuck in the snow while he was trying to drive up Southwest Blvd. on the Southhill. He had been waiting for the tow truck to help pull the bus out for about 10 mintues.

He also got rear-ended by a car while the bus was stuck in the snow. But there was not any damage done so the STA supervisor let the driver of the car go when he arrived to help Bryan's bus get out of the snow.

The rest of Bryan's night was pretty stressful, but he made it through. The snow plowers came down our street in the afternoon on Sunday and pushed up a bunch of snow right were we park the van. Unfortuantly, he had to shovel the ice and snow out of the way to park the van last night.

Here is a link to some video fotage that Krem2 news has. I hope that you can see it. If not sorry. Leave me a comment if you do watch the videos and tell me what you think.

Oh and Bryan and I had a bet going wether the schools would be closed today and I won! I said they would be, and he said NO Way. All the schools were closed today! Even Spokane School district which NEVER closes. Well, they did close during the ice storm in 1992, but that was the last time.

Any way....we are surviving. We are suppose to get more snow tonight.

Snowed in...almost!

Woke up this morning to almost a foot of snow! We actually didn't realize that it has snowed that much. It did look like a lot of snow, don't get me wrong, but it didn't seem like 12 inches. Bryan went out and shoveled the side walk, and informed me that there was a ton of snow out there, and that underneath it was ice, that was turning to slush. YUM!

We got dressed and headed out to church. Not to many people on the roads this morning, but we made it up the hill with no problem. I commented to Bryan that there was sure a lot of people out on a Sunday morning shoveling their side walks and drive ways. We must have seen 10-15 families out side working on shoveling on our way to Church. When we arrived at the church building, I quickly noticed that there was not to many people there, and we were already running late.

We got inside the building and found a seat. The Bishop got up shortly after that and informed us that we would be only taking of the Sacrament and then we would be excused from church to head home and get our homes ready for the storm. WOW! Bryan and I looked at each other. We took the sacrament and then were excused to head home. As we drove home I really began looking around and realized just how much snow was really on the ground. And there was a lot!

After arriving home I turned on the TV and the news about this storm was on every major channel. Many accidents, and people stuck in their homes because of the snow. As well as the snow starting to melt and causing flooding on the freeway and other major streets. WOW! is all I can say.

It has not stopped snowing yet. Wonder what the final snow fall will be?

I did have one thing to share though today about being at church. We did sing a song before the Sacrament was being passed around, and this Hymn was one I flipped too after we were done singing, and I was waiting for the bread to be passed down our row.

I wanted to share the words with you all because it touched me today.

When Faith Endures #128

I will not doubt,
I will not fear;
God's love and strength are always near.

He promised gift helps me to find
an inner strength and peace of mind.

I give the Father willingly
My trust, my prayers, humility.

His Spirit guides; his love assures
that fear departs when faith endures.

Still sick

Got hardly any sleep last night. Bug woke up at 12:30am and I spent the rest of the night down stairs with him. Trying to sleep in his bed with him, but he would start talking, singing, etc..so I came back up stairs. Asked Bryan for some help, and he reluctantly went down stairs, but his help only made Bug cry more, and I still couldn't sleep. After a quick argument Bryan headed up stairs and I went into Bug's room and told him, point blank, "I will come join you sleeping again, but if you make one peap, I was out of the room and he could cry him self back to sleep" . It was 3am by this time. I was tired, and SICK...coughing and gagging...but he managed to fall asleep dispite my coughing.
I got him to stay in bed tell 7am and then we got up. Bryan had to go to the court house because he got picked for jury duty. He was upset that he had to do this, because he would rather be working on the basement bathroom.
So I have been home sick, coughing and now throwing up in the kitchen from coughing so hard that I am gagging.
I had to cancel Bug's OT appointment because I am sick and Bryan was not able to get done with the jury duty in time to take Bug to his appointment, and he is the one who has our one working car right now during the winter.

I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and am hoping that I will have some better stuff to post about.

Today has been a tough day. Very emotional, because I am not feeling really good and some other personal stuff going on. I hope that time can heal this dark cloud that seems to have engulfed me lately.

Hope you all are having a good day dispite my gloom.
